OSCO Development History

In a short period, OSCO has progressed from operating its first tug-and-barge units to developing one of the largest specialist fleets serving the Russian Far East. We continue to invest in newbuilds, ocean-going tonnage and logistics solutions for diverse cargoes in demanding hydrometeorological conditions.

  1. Launch of our fleet development programme

    • Company established.
    • First tug, Yuriy Bilibin, entered service.
    • Development of a versatile tug-and-barge transport system began.

  2. Specialist fleet built for direct shore delivery

    • Tugs Ivan Zholobov and Alexander Nesterov were built.
    • The first 65-metre, 2,200-tonne deadweight barges were built: Manor, Gizhiga and Korkodon. Designed to take the ground and dry out, they operate in tug-and-barge units.
    • Regular operations with our own fleet began in June 2023, enabling cargo delivery to destinations without port infrastructure.

  3. Transition to larger projects

    • A new generation of higher-capacity tug-and-barge units entered service.
    • Large tug Nathan Nesis and the 86-metre, 3,300-tonne deadweight barge Borzya joined the fleet.
    • Tug Rumil Nizamov and barge Kiran entered service.

  4. Growth in operating capacity

    • Large tug Alexey Ivanov and barge Ona entered service.
    • The first production series of our own fleet was completed.
    • Capacity for general cargo, containers and bulk cargo expanded.

  5. A new stage of company development

    • An additional fleet portfolio was acquired.
    • Ice-class multipurpose cargo vessels Akvamarin and Orion and bulk carrier Vladimir Shilkov joined the company.
    • Two Omskiy-type vessels for containers, general cargo and bulk cargo and three tug-and-barge units were added.
    • Tug Vyacheslav Safonov and the 3,300-tonne deadweight barge Yarhodon were built.
    • The company significantly expands its cargo base and route network, becoming a versatile marine logistics operator.

  6. Development of the specialist fleet

    • Planned entry into service of the first 99-metre deck cargo vessel, designed to take the ground and equipped with a 32-tonne shipboard crane, with deadweight of 3,500 tonnes.
    • Further expansion of direct shore delivery capability.

  7. Continuation of the investment programme

    • Planned delivery of a second 99-metre deck cargo vessel with deadweight of 3,500 tonnes.
    • Further increase in fleet carrying capacity.
    • Development of one of the largest specialist fleets for direct shore delivery in the Russian Far East.
